The Palms community is set just south of Davenport Lake, a 400 acre lake with a fishing pier, and boat dock. Polo Park golf course is just north of The Palms and many other golf courses are nearby including Highlands Reserve, Southern Dunes, Ridgewood Lakes, Diamondback, Kings Ridge Celebration and Champion Gate.

It is 6 miles from Walt Disney World and attractions, and within a 10 minute drive to water parks, shops and restaurants. The nearest beach is 50 miles away while there is a 60 minute drive to the Gulf and East Coast beaches. There is a Publix supermarket less than a mile away and a 24 hour Wal-Mart store a few minutes away on Highway 27 along with many other shops and restaurants.
